About Autostop

Autostop is a pint-sized zine distro from Melbourne! The proceeds from some of the zines go to radical grassroots organisations, including: Anarchists Against the Wall, the International Solidarity Movement and Vafa Animal Shelter. Go to the Solidarity page to find out more.

‘Autostop’ is also French, German, Spanish, Italian, Bulgarian, Hungarian, Lithuanian, Polish, Greek, Turkish and general europunk for “hitchhike”.

Finally, ‘Autostop’ is also the name of the 1980 Greek Eurovision entry performed by Anna Vissi and the Epikouri. Vissi sings that autostop, a word she says thirty-seven times during the song, is the best way of seeing the world.
